Isuzu’s new Mu-X: A 7-seat SUV that’s big on features and comfort

The all-new 2nd Isuzu mu-X has recently received a significant improvement, putting it several moves ahead of its predecessors. It made its maiden appearance in Thailand in October 2020, with the tried-and-true Blue Power turbo-diesel engine lineup, as well as various refinements that make the medium more polished and powerful than before. The RZ4E LS-A 4×2 MT, 3.0 LS-A 4×2 AT, RZ4E LS 4×2 AT,3.0 LS-E 4×2 AT, 3.0 LS-E 4×2 AT, and 3.0 LS-E 4×4 AT are the five models available for the Philippine market.

An all Isuzu mu-X comes with two powerplant options, same like its predecessor. The basic 1.9-liter RZ4E turbocharged diesel engine, which produces the same 148 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque as before, is part of the Blue Power lineup. The alternative engine is a 3.0-liter blue turbo diesel with 187 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque.

Launch

On September 22, 2021, Isuzu Philippines unveiled the all-new mu-X. For the time being, the midsize SUV will be present in five different versions for the market place. The second-generation Isuzu mu-X, like its predecessor, comes with two engines: a turbo diesel engine of 1.9-liter namely RZ4E and a three liter Blue Performance turbo diesel engine with increased power.

Features of Technology

The Isuzu mu-X comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports iPhone Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A navigation system is included in all models of the vehicle. The SUV’s higher-end models include a seven inch instrument cluster screen, while the base model has a 3.5-inch monochromatic display. The LS-E model comes standard with an 8-speaker audio system, whereas the other variants have a 6-speaker system. The vehicle also has a 12-volt auxiliary plug, which is typical across the range. The vehicle also has USB ports, but they are not available in the entry-level variant. A 220V outlet is available in the LS-E models, which is a recent addition to the SUV.

Exterior

All versions of the Isuzu mu-X comes standard with Headlamps and tail lights, with an automated levelling function available on all models except for the LS AT. The majority of the variation lineup features a bright silver and chromium grille, with the LS AT model receiving a black and guns metal version instead. The SUV also comes with power adjusting side mirrors as standard, with incorporated side turn signals optional on higher variants. Roof slats are also available on the car, but they are not available on the entry-level model. All versions come with a rear spoiler as well as an emergency brake signal.

For the base LS-E models, a power tailgate is also available. The SUV also gets new wheel options, with set of standard levels receiving 20-inch alloys, mid-tier versions receiving 18-inch alloys, and the entry-level vehicle having 17-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle’s higher-tier variants will come with an 18-inch metal spare tire, while the entry-level model will get a 17-inch. Marrakesh Brown, Onyx Black, Splash White and Mercury Silver are the colors available for the Isuzu mu-X.

Interior

The interior of the Isuzu mu-X is more polished, with a layout that mimics that of its big rig brother, the D-MAX. The SUV’s seats are available in three materials: leather for higher-tier versions, fabric for semi trim, and fabric for the entry-level model. The standard color for all of these seat material options is black. The LS-E versions have 8-way power-adjustable seats in the first row, whereas the LS-A models have 6-way manual adjustability as standard. Only 4-way manual adjustability is available on the entry-level LS model. A 60/40 divided pillion seat with a center armrest and 3 adjustable headrests makes up the vehicle’s second row. The SUV’s third row features a 50/50 foldable bench with comes with two headrests. The car’s interior will give a soothing effect to the eye and also provides the maximum comfort to the car’s owner. So, this car is worth its price in terms of its perfect interior.
